#TeaserTuesday ~ Temptation

For today’s #TeaserTuesday here’s a peek of what I’m currently working. I’m self-editing as I get it ready for submission. This is an unedited sneak peek. Also since this is sneak peek it might not make it into final submission of book.

Temptation
By Talia Carmichael
Genre: Contemporary
Series: Something in Common – Prequel

“You’ll do as you usually do Simon — succeed. You don’t know of any other way.” Hector’s softly spoke words filled the room.

They settled in Simon’s soul soothing him. Even with all the year they had been together Hector could still calm him down or make him pissed in a matter of a second. It was his knack and one in that moment he appreciated.

“I will.” He said with conviction he actually felt and he smiled this time a genuine one. “I’m a lucky man to have you by my side.”

“That’s not what you thought when we meet.” Hector snorted.

“Well at the time I thought you were an asshole and then you added to it by insulting my car. No one insults my car.” Simon lifted an eyebrow.

“Someone has selective memory.” Hector countered smilind. “I just commented on how unique you car was.”

“Calling it a piece of shit ready to fall aprat isn’t a comment.” Simon countered.

“Hmm…I don’t recall using those words.” Hector smiled wider.

“Let me refresh your faulty memory.” Simon leaned against him lacing their fingers together.

“Fine but I reserve the right to interject what I recall.”

“Fair enough.” Simon glanced at him. “It was a dark stormy night.”

“Really you could start it more unique than that.” Hector kissed him softly.

“But it was a dark story night…”

Beyond the Book ~ Detour: Scene from Cutting Room Floor

talc-beyondtbooktalccutfloor-detourBeyond the Book is about the idea, insights or concepts of how a book came to be.

This month’s for Beyond the Book I’ll be giving insights into Detour (Something in Common, Book # 1).

I’m sharing with you a brief part of a scene from the cutting room floor. It didn’t make it into a final copy of a story. Not even the publisher has read or seen it. This is unedited. Enjoy.

Watching Robert eat an ice cream cone was going to kill Miguel. The man had no idea how much he wanted him. The giving him time to figure it out was painful. Miguel shifted to ease the pressure on his erection. Robert just continued swirling his tongue on the ice cream oblivious ot the agony Miguel was in.

I’d like him to lick me like that. Miguel followed with his gaze the path Robert was taking as he licked. The sounds Robert was making should be illegal. It was wanton and Miguel wanted to be the one making him make those sounds.

Suddenly Robert stopped and looked at him. “Don’t you want your ice cream?”

Robert got that cute wrinkle between his eyes as he asked.

Only if I can lick it off you. Instead Miguel said aloud. “Yeah.” He gave his own creamy confection a slow deliberate lick.

Robert stared and Miguel held back a grin. Yeah you’re going to be mine soon.

Thursday Thoughts ~ Remember When….

ttreemberwhenHad a conversation the other day with someone about the changes in how much it takes to ride the subway. We actually spoke of how what we use evolved. It used to be a token that had a hole in middle then went to a token with no hole and now it’s a card. The price went from 35 cents and rose since then until it is now 2.75. Then there is also talk of increasing the fare even more.

This conversation lead to other remember when things like not so much immediate with social media and people having a face to face conversation. It was an interesting discussion.

“You’re welcome. Did you lock the door? You really should keep it locked. When Ramirez and I came by last night, it was unlocked. That’s not safe, kid.”

“I’m not a kid. And don’t tell me what to do,” Bernie growled, his hand slamming against the counter.

Tomas looked back at him. Bernie’s looked furious. His lips curled in a snarl. He shifted, almost vibrating. In that moment, it hit Tomas. He put down his water and started to chuckle.

“What’s so funny?” Bernie snapped.

Tomas sobered and watched him intently. “Damned if Ramirez isn’t going to win the bet.”

“What about the bet?”

“You know about that?” Tomas asked, shifting closer.

“Yeah. And it seems as if you do too. I bet on it.” Bernie looked uneasy.

“Who and what did you bet, Bernie?”

“Ummm… on no one, and for never. You called me Bernie.” Bernie looked baffled.

“Yeah. That’s your name.” Tomas shifted to stand in front of him.

Bernie turned automatically to face him. Bernie’s T-shirt hung on his lanky frame. The baggy jeans pulled, cupping his cock. Bernie pushed his shaggy hair back from his face with one slender hand. Tomas held back a groan.

“I bet never too. But, Bernie….” He trailed off, staring at Bernie’s face.

“What?” Bernie asked, trepidation in his tone.

Tomas said nothing, just continued to stare. A blush crept up Bernie’s cheeks. He licked his lips and shifted nervously. Bernie stood abruptly, then tripped. Tomas caught him and pulled him against his body.

“We’re both gonna lose the bet,” he whispered close to Bernie’s lips.

“What? Why?” Bernie sputtered.

“Does your blush go all over?” Tomas asked.

“I… don’t know. Let me go… Tomas,” Bernie whispered.

The soft tone went straight to Tomas’s cock. He pulled Bernie closer and closed the distance between their lips.

“Later… much later,” Tomas promised.

#TeaserTuesday ~ Interlude: Caught

talcinterludenocommitFor today’s #TeaserTuesday here’s an Interlude.

What is an Interlude? (this is for those who might not know as well as a reminder.) Interlude is basically a short read (a scene) that features a couple/some of characters from one of my published books/series. It’s usually set after the end of the books that have been published. It’s a glimpse into the daily life of the couple/some of characters from one of my published books/series.

Enjoy the Interlude.

An Encounters Interlude
December 2015
Genre: Contemporary
Series: Encounters
Length: Interlude

Kevin slowly opened the door and listened. When he heard nothing he blew out a breath glad that Nate wasn’t home yet. He glanced behind him before he entered the house. The wiggling bundle under his clothing made him smile. Kevin opened his shirt and looked down at the dainty kitten. Those big tawny eyes blinked at him and she yawned showing off her teeth.

“Just like your Daddy. All teeth and no bite.” Kevin laughed softly as he stroked the head of the kitten that he’d gotten from Vinnie.

“Liar.” At the sound of Nate’s voice Kevin jumped.

“Damn it, Nate you almost gave me a heart attack.” He glanced to his left and scowled as he tried to hide the kitten. “I thought you weren’t home.”

“What you planning to do sneak in your other boyfriend.” Nate snickered as he came closer.

The kitten meowed and Kevin coughed trying to cover it up. He knew he failed when Nate rolled his eyes.

“Really you think I didn’t see the pussy you’re carrying.”

“I’m keeping it.” Kevin stated firmly.

“Ok.” Nate agreed readily.

To readily. Kevin looked at him suspiciously. Nate smiled widely.

“What do you want?”

“Nothing.” Nate came closer and rubbed his finger down his cheek. “Anything that gives you that look is worth keeping. Although I might get jealous. I’m the only one you should look do lovingly at.”

Nate strolled away. Kevin stared after him. He glanced at the kitten and set it on the floor. “I’ll be right back. I need to go jump your daddy.”

“I am not the father.” Nate laughed but turned looking over his shoulder and winked. “But I’ll move really slow so you can jump me properly.”

Kevin headed after him and Nate laughed as he moved in slow motion. Reaching him Kevin turned him to him and kissed him. Nate sank against him a willing captive.

Beyond the Book ~ Detour: A Way to the Heart

talc-beyondtbooktcdetourblogBeyond the Book is about the idea, insights or concepts of how a book came to be.

This month’s for Beyond the Book I’ll be giving insights into Detour (Something in Common, Book # 1).

In Detour, Miguel makes Robert some food – both chicken and dessert empanadas. As the saying goes food is the way to the heart…. or is that stomach. I think heart sounds better so I am going with “food is the way to the heart”. I think food evokes many emotions in people.

In my case my fav comfort food is hot cereal -oatmeal, cream of wheat or any of those it doesn’t matter it is about the feeling of comfort it brings to me.

If I am happy I like something with caramel or marshmallows.

When I am extremely happy or in a giddy mood I like to enjoy a slice of cheesecake.

What are some of the food or foods you like and what are the emotions they bring out in you?
