Magnus blue eyes were intent on him. A flutter filled Grant’s belly. There was a look in them he didn’t know what to make of it. Magnus’ smile deepened.
Grant touched his glasses adjusting them although they didn’t need it. Magnus touched the back of his hand. Grant stilled.
“No need to be all nervous.” Grant leaned closer. “I’m still me.”
Grant blinked. There was no way Magnus voice deepened. No way that said tone made him…warm. Nope no way. He inhaled and stifled a moan as Magnus’s scent filled him. It reminded him of something exotic and forbidden.
“I’m not.” He moved his hand from his slowly not about to reveal anything was different.
Not like you just checked out your friend. Yes, that’s what he is a friend. Remember that. Friendship. Friendship is more important than getting laid. Even if you have not had sex for a long, long, long time. Wait how long has it been?
Grant had no idea but a feeling like he had briefly about a friend made him know it was time to rectify that. Magnus smiled a wicked grin.
“I can help you out with the sex.” Magnus paused. “It’s been a while for me too.”
His eyes widened as he realized he said it out loud. “Christ, I need to work on my filter.”
Grant knew it’d been a while since he and his ex, had broken up. He didn’t know if Magnus had had sex since then. There was no possible way that was what Magnus meant.
“If you haven’t been able to do that since we were kids, I don’t think it will work now.” Magnus chuckled.
“How much of that did I say out loud?” Grant hoped it wasn’t all of it.
“Even if you have not had sex for a long, long, long time. Wait how long has it been.” Magnus quoted him with a smile then. “What was the rest?”
No way was he about to tell him that. “Never mind. I’m discombobulated from all the changes and stuff.”
“I know how you don’t like change but…”
Dread filled Grant as he trailed off. “What?”
“You need to start thinking and getting used to us,” Magnus said firmly.
“You had me all nervous. I’m already used to us.” Grant blew out a breath.
Magnus looked at him intently. Grant swallowed uneasy. There was something again there he didn’t want to think about.
“You know what I mean. When you are ready to make the change let me know.” Magnus smiled changed to his usual more affable one. “See you later for our movie and veg.”
He walked away. |
